My Story

My Story

Hi my name is Danette Fossceco.  Even though you may know me in another context, or we haven’t been on touch for a while, I want to take this opportunity to reconnect with you and share a little bit about myself.

I was blessed to spend almost four decades working at the same company. What was initially meant to be a summer job, became my career as I cared for my growing family. After my kids grew up, I often wondered if that was the only career I would have?? My passion to change lives was always a strong desire and I discovered there was another role that I was planned for me….

Here’s a story about the passion that I do have….

I sat in the stands, craning my neck to see my daughter milling among the other competitors.  I could feel my excitement.  I think I was as excited as the students. I had made sure to try and attend every one of her swim-meets and was massively proud of her.

I spotted my daughter speaking to her friends, and she happened to glance my way. We made eye contact, and I waved energetically at her. She quickly looked away, going red from embarrassment. Not that it stopped me from enthusiastically cheering for her as loud as I could. So often, my voice was raspy the day after one of her meets.

She didn’t always appreciate it in the moment, but she once came to me with a memorable thank you.

After one of my embarrassing displays of support, she had rolled her eyes and muttered to her friends, “My mom is so annoying!”

Instead of nods of agreement, her friends had looked surprised. One of them very openly responded, “At least your mom’s here.”

It was the first time that it really clicked for her. Why I made sure to show up and cheer her on every time she competed. Not all the parents were able to do that, but I had prioritized those days. I’d always be there for her and had a passion for her success.

I had been very aware of making those decisions. When I was 18, I got my first job, a part-time position at a supermarket. It seemed like a good way to make money over the summer…and the next 37 summers!

I hadn’t intended to build a career at the store, but responsibilities came at me fast, and I needed to help provide for my family. That became especially true when my first daughter was born less than two years later. I wanted to provide her with the best, especially as I became a single mom.  So, what was meant to be a brief stint of work experience became a commitment to the company.

But, along the way, as life hands us our ups and downs, I sometimes wondered. Was this all I would do? Work at the same place my entire life? There had been no time to go to school or find other careers that I was passionate about. I always had an interest in the real estate industry. I had seen what to do and the joy it brought to others.  If I only had the opportunity, I could really excel at it.

I believe that God always steps in when the timing is right. While I wasn’t directly laid off, the work team was “reorganized,” and I could feel myself being edged out. With the support of my husband, I finally took the leap.

It was intense to walk away from a business after almost 40 years. But if not now, then when, I asked? I gave myself one month off, then hit the ground running in the real estate industry.

The years of being a REALTOR has been a such delight. I get to work closely with friends, families and I develop strong relationships throughout the real estate process. The care I put into raising my kids, is the same care I put into taking care of my clients. I look forward to delivering that same care to you!

With 38 plus years of experience in customer service, I understand the importance of taking care of people and delivering what you promise to them. Buying or selling a home can be a stressful time for clients, but I love that I can ease some of that concern through my role as their Realtor.

I feel that the relationships I build and the connections I form with people all happen for a reason. God puts us in each other’s lives, at the right time. I’ve worked with multiple generations of the same family, bringing them each home. I often find the end of the transaction, I feel the same excitement as my clients. So many times, a close relationship is built after working with my clients so intently. Of course, that’s also the most satisfying part of my job. That’s the point at which we’ve officially reached success.

I am committed to provide exceptional customer service marked by high integrity.  I have the passion to see you through the process from beginning to end.

I would love nothing more than to lend my knowledge and expertise toward helping you in your real estate endeavors, but I don’t expect your business simply because of our relationship.  I realize you have many options when choosing a real estate agent, I only ask that you take the time to interview me and see if I might be the best agent for you.  If you DO select me to be by your side in your journey, I promise to work diligently to exceed your expectations.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me.  When you, or someone you know is in need of a REALTOR, I hope you give me the opportunity to demonstrate my services and interview for the job.

Sincerely,

Danette Fossceco
